Lesbian and gay parenting publication
The American Psychological Association publishes a summary of research findings on lesbian mothers, gay fathers and their children for the use of clinicians, students, researchers and parents.

Lesbian and gay rights

The American Civil Liberties Union, ACLU, has an array of press releases and Supreme Court cases related to same-sex parenting legal issues. The ACLU is challenging discriminatory laws restricting the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people to be parents.

Parenting and adoption research
The media kit of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, GLAAD, explains how to correctly report on issues about gay adoption and parenting. Some of the issues discussed are family protection, recognition laws, adoption laws and family courts.

Find a local gay parenting group
The Family Equality Council aims to connect gay, lesbian, queer, bisexual and transgender-headed families with local support groups. It also advocates for gay parents to be more active by attending events, connecting with other parents, spreading the word or hosting a house party in their area.

Get involved, help stop prohibition of same-sex marriage and discrimination
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force aims to provide nondiscriminatory protection for gay families by advocating for the same rights that opposite-sex families have.

Local resource guide
The Pride Community Center of North Central Florida has a list of local resources available to gay families in North Central Florida. The list of resources includes  organizations, nightclubs, churches, bookstores, libraries and counselors.
